WARM AUTUMN

Sarah

This autumn’s trend focuses on using warm colours in deep, earthy tones, with a strong 1970’s-meets-oriental feel. Colours such as pink, red and rusty tones are more in vogue than ever. The palette ranges from light pink to burgundy and burnt orange, combined with deep browns that are balanced off with crisp whites and gold accents.

Our Floor of the Month for October, Kährs Oak Lava, sets a perfect base for this elegant yet earthy palette with its deep black-brown hue. It is currently available in stock in Dubai and offered with up to 20% discount. Contact us on tel. +971 4 369 55 69 to book an appointment in our showroom.

BUILD DUBAI BREAKFAST

Sarah

Last week we starting off Tuesday by hosting the inspiring group of Build Dubai members for a delicious Scandinavian breakfast and presentation in our showroom!

Keeping in line with our heritage and culture, we served a Scandinavian breakfast created by Smørrebrød – including the famous open-faced sandwiches and fresh smoothies.

The breakfast also included three inspirational talks and lots of mingling and networking. Overall a really successful event, and we look forward to hosting more of them in the future!

EARTHY LUXE

Sarah

We are feeling inspired by interiors with an earthy palette of golden straw balanced off with dramatic stone greys and airy whites. This combination of hues, especially when in contrasting textures, creates a depth that reflects an understated, minimalistic luxe that we love.

Our new Floor of the Month, Kährs Oak Vinga, has a beautiful pale grey hue with natural warm undertones – resulting in a temperate expression. Occasional saw marks accentuate the floor’s restored appearance. Each board is meticulously hand-scraped and carefully brushed to bring out the character of the grain and highlight the natural texture of the timber.

SWEDISH MEATBALL DAY!

Sarah

Whether meat, chicken, vegetarian or vegan versions- Swedes love their meatballs! Traditionally served with potato, brown gravy, lingonberries and pressed cucumbers, this meal is a staple in every Swedish household. Therefore it comes as no surprise it has been given it’s own day on August 23rd.

Happy Swedish Meatball Day! 🇸🇪

KINNERSLEY KENT DESIGN

Sarah

Yesterday we held a presentation over a Lunch & Learn for the lovely team from Kinnersley Kent Design, hosted by our Commercial Sales team, Jasna and James.

As we always strive to give our visitors a real “taste of Sweden” when they visit our showroom, it’s only natural that we choose to serve authentic Swedish open-faced sandwiches, handmade by our favourite caterers at Smørrebrød!

MAKITI MILA

Sarah

We are really loving how Dubai-based food photographer Makiti Mila created this lovely flatlay of the “Green Gazpacho Goodness” recipe for Spinneys Dubai, and staged it beautifully on top of our rustic grey Kährs Maple Bruma wood flooring. The combination of colours and textures is perfection!

DINA FÄRGER VAR BLÅ

Sarah

We’re currently having Swedish singer Tommy Nilsson’s hit “Dina Färger Var Blå” (a classic summer song) on repeat, dreaming of the beautiful Swedish summer!

And one of the most iconic summer spots in Sweden is the beautiful island Gotland, known for its medieval architecture, rugged beaches with azure waters lapping the shoreline, sand dunes and mile upon mile of beach with panoramic views of the Baltic Sea.

And therefore, this month the colours we’re loving are the azure blue, creamy white, sandy beige and stone grey colours of Gotland.

Our Floor of the Month for July, Kährs Oak Dew, is the perfect ode to the Swedish summer and rustic nature of Gotland. It’s white oil patina enhances the distinctive texture found in the oak for a fresh, coastal look. It’s the perfect floor that will warm up a more modern scheme while it’s rustic nature will accentuate a more “country” interior. A truly versatile floor that works for any scheme.

ALL-WHITE

Sarah

This apartment in the sustainable Hammarby Sjöstad in Stockholm features very bright, light-filled interiors and elegant luxurious textures in wood, marble, velvet and brass.

The Kährs Oak Limestone wood floor enhances the natural light in the apartment with its whisper-white finish and clean and even expression. Each board is carefully brushed to bring out the character of the grain and highlight the natural texture of the timber. The matt lacquer finish eliminates glare while protecting the wood from daily wear.
