For our architects and designers we provide comprehensive support in delivering samples and full product specifications.

SITE INSPECTION & QUANTITY SURVEY

We have a team of technically qualified engineers who physically do the site inspection and also provide computer-generated printouts, shop drawing, and hand trails. Based on such details, we do the Quantity Survey to provide the exact cost involved. We strive to satisfy all wood floor covering needs through consultative selling and exceed the expectations of our valued clients.

SUPPLY OF PRODUCTS

For the “supply only” our commitment is to ensure the order to be delivered on time.

INSTALLATION

We have our own team of professional installers who are continuously trained in-house and by Kährs at their premises. We also utilize Kährs recommended tools/equipment and accessories.

INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE TRAINING

We can offer free installation and maintenance training.

DELIVERY SERVICE

We can offer both delivery by sea freight and air freight. The estimated delivery time by sea freight from Kährs’ well-stocked warehouse in Nybro, Sweden is between 6-8 weeks. Should one require urgent and immediate delivery, such is available via air freight, which shortens the lead time to 7-10 working days. In addition, we are able to provide door-to-door service that could be quoted upon request. We also keep certain products in-stock in our warehouse in Dubai at all times.

AFTER SALES SERVICE

We provide operation and maintenance manuals upon completion of a project and are readily available to extend technical expertise to enhance the product performance. We insure the client’s representatives are trained adequately for trouble-free usage.

INSTALLATION SPECIALISTS

Nordic Homeworx has its own team of in-house installation specialists that have been certified by Kährs International and are trained to keep up to date on Kährs latest wood flooring installation innovations on a regular basis.

Kährs was founded in 1857 by a young Swedish man named Johan Kähr. He came to the village of Nybro, in the south-eastern part of Sweden, where he set up a small wood turning shop. Wood products were in his genes, since his father owned a sawmill, and Johan’s turning-shop started off by producing spinning jennies, or spinning wheels. Soon the small company widened its product range to include furniture and other wooden items for the home. And, eventually, wood floors were included in the range.

A milestone in Kährs’ history – as well as in the history of wood flooring – was reached in 1941. Gustaf Kähr, grandson of the founder, was granted a patent for the multi-layered parquet board. The world’s first engineered parquet was born. This happened during a time when practicality was becoming increasingly important when building houses and decorating homes. After World War II, the housing market boomed and many families built small houses of their own. As a result, there was increased demand for parquet floors, which were seen as essential in the main living areas of every house.

Previously, floors were installed and sanded before being lacquered on site. The production of a factory lacquered floor required a high degree of precision to ensure that the surface of the floor was smooth and consistent in use. In 1958, Kährs introduced an accuracy in production that was unparalleled in wood processing.

In 1965, Kährs patented a completely new sports floor construction. Boards were nailed to a flexible batten system, which resulted in a floor that was able to absorb impacts and give a more uniform response to sports activities. Most modern sports floors are still based on this construction.

Kährs introduced the world’s first parquet floor with the glueless Woodloc® joint in 2000. The technology was seen as revolutionary, resulting in a faster installation and giving perfect results, as well as eliminating climate-change gapping between the boards. An upgraded Woodloc® joint system – Woodloc® 5S - was introduced in 2010.
